Abstract <p>中部大学中部高等学術研究所国際GISセンターでは、GISやリモートセンシングなどの空間情報技術を用いてサイバースペース上に構築した多次元・多解像度の地球「デジタルアース」の研究を推進してきた。感染症は多数の要因が複雑に絡み合う問題複合体であり、デジタルアースによるアプローチはこうした問題の解題に役立つことが期待される。本研究では新型コロナウイルス（COVID-19）を対象に、感染者数の時空間ダイナミクスを観測データから抽出することを目的とする。近年の感染症の数理モデルの多くは空間分布の推移を考慮していないため、地域に応じた対策を考えることが困難な状況となっている。本研究では、感染者数の空間分布情報について解析を行い、地域ごとの特徴を抽出する。その上で、数理モデリングを用いて地域に応じた感染症対策を検討する。得られた特徴の情報はデジタルアース上に公開し、広く社会に貢献するよう努める。</p><p>The International Digital Earth Applied Science Research Center (IDEAS) of the Chubu Institute for Advanced Studies, Chubu University, is promoting research on the multidimensional and multi-resolution earth, 'Digital Earth', built on cyberspace using spatial information technologies including GIS and remote sensing. An infectious disease is a complex systemic problem in which many factors are intricately intertwined, and approaches using Digital Earth are expected to solve such problems. The purpose of this study is to extract the spatiotemporal dynamics of the number of infected people of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) from observation data. Since many mathematical models of infectious diseases in recent years do not integrate the transition of spatial distribution, it is difficult to consider measures according to each region. In this study, we analyze the spatial distribution information of the number of infected people and extract the characteristics of the situation in each region. Next, we will examine countermeasures against COVID-19 infections for each region using mathematical modeling. Information on the obtained features will be disclosed on Digital Earth, and efforts will be made to widely contribute to the society.
