Abstract 日本の国勢調査・物流センサス・経済センサス・工業統計調査・科学技術庁さ・企業活動調査・企業間取引データ等の個票および特許データを用い、都市・地域経済学・集積の経済学・国際経済学・交通経済学を含む多角的な視点から、都市間貿易構造、研究開発活動および産業立地の相互依存関係について、理論および実証的に分析し、政策的インプリケーションを得る。特に、経済成長の源泉であり、かつ、大都市形成の根源的な要因として考えられてきた知識創造のメカニズムについて、ミクロ計量経済学的に解明し、その立地パターン、都市システム構造、さらに地域間貿易構造への影響経路を定量的に分析し、知識創造から産業・交通基盤政策までを貫く包括的な地域経済政策について考察する。
By using a large variety of micro geographic data (population and economic census, surveys on commodity flows and research and development, and firm activities, transport network structure, and patent data), we investigate both theoretically and empirically the interplay among inter-city trade, knowledge creation, industrial location and the formation of transport network in an interdisciplinary framework incorporating urban and regional economics, economics of agglomeration, international trade, transportation economics and economic growth theory.
In particular, we conduct micro-econometric analyses on the mechanism of knowledge creation, industrial agglomeration, population agglomeration, firm growth as well as their relations to transport network structure. We the quantify their influence on the overall structure of the city system, the pattern of inter-city trade, and growth of the economy.
