空間情報技術を用いたエコヘルス（生態学的視野に立った健康科学）研究

第３期科学技術基本計画の一部として2006年より開始された『データ統合・解析システム(DIAS)プロジェクト』は、GISやリモートセンシング等の空間情報技術を用いた地球環境の観測データや、その予測シミュレーションモデル、社会経済データなどを効果的に統合し、その情報を外部の研究機関へ提供するためのデータインフラを構築することを目的としている。本研究ではDIASプロジェクトが提供する空間情報技術由来の大規模なデータインフラを用いて、日本を対象に環境リスクと健康との間の関係の研究を行う。より具体的には人の流れデータやリモートセンシングによる地表面温度データ等を用いて、下記の２点を研究対象とする。（１）ヒートアイランド現象や大気汚染などの環境リスクと人々の健康状態との間にどのような関連があるかを日本の都市を対象に分析する。（２）少子高齢化が進む長野県等を対象に、高齢化が進行した地域とその生活環境にどのような関連があるかを分析する。
As a part of the The Third Master Plan for Science and Technology, DIAS (Data Integration and Analysis System) project was launched from 2006. The project aims at creating an information storage infrastructure, including earth observation, simulation, and socio-economic data based on spatial information techniques, for public benefit applications. The goal of our research is analyzing how environmental risks affect population health in Japan using data from DIAS project. Specifically, we are applying a range of data including remotely-sensed land surface temperature and human trip data to investigate two research questions: the relationship between population health and environmental risks such as heat island phenomena/air pollution in Japanese urban areas; and the association between aging of the population in a Japanese area such as Nagano prefecture and their living environment.
