This study investigates how land-use accessibility influences sustainable travel mode choice using GPS trajectory data. Each trip will be reconstructed from recorded location points and classified by transport mode, including walking, cycling, rail, car, and other vehicle-based travel. The study will integrate trajectory-derived indicators with land-use and built-environment variables, such as land-use mix, population and employment density, point-of-interest accessibility, distance to railway stations, road network connectivity, and access to essential services. A hybrid methodological framework will be developed by combining XGBoost-SHAP with a random parameters logit model. First, XGBoost-SHAP will identify the most important factors and reveal nonlinear relationships and interaction effects between land use, accessibility, and travel behavior. Then, a random parameters logit model will quantify the effects of key variables while accounting for unobserved heterogeneity across individuals, locations, and time periods. The results are expected to clarify which land-use and accessibility conditions encourage walking, cycling, and public transport use, and to provide policy implications for transit-oriented development, 15-minute city planning, and sustainable land use–transport integration.
