研究内容
Abstract

自転車を乗れる状態のまま車両内に持ち込むサイクルトレインの活用が地方鉄道を中心に広がってきている。サイクルトレインによって、利用者の行動範囲の拡大や、自動車から鉄道、自転車への交通モード転換等が期待されている。しかし、現在日本ではサイクルトレインが欧州ほど普及していない。今後日本において導入促進し定着させるためには、サイクルトレインの効果や沿線都市空間との関係性を、住民や事業主が把握することが重要である。そこで、サイクルトレインが日常的に利用されている上毛線を事例に、利用者の行動原理と沿線都市空間との関係性を明らかとすることを目的とする。サイクルトレインの利点の中でも行動範囲の拡大に着目し、沿線都市の形態にどのような影響を受けるかを、GISを用いて分析する。それにより、サイクルトレインの有効性を明らかにするとともに、サイクルトレインに適した都市形態について考察する。
